Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Leaving SF

I didn't think that the moment when I finally submitted my resignation would be happier than the moment when I first got the job and when I had high expectations from this place.

Is there a better feeling than giving notice to the great surprise of a micromanager who probably thought I would stay here forever to suffer his inflated ego?

3rd party temp expenses flow directly into claim expense. They are tracked separately but count exactly the same. Works same way in ET.

If the company wasnt understaffed and having a HUGE issue with staffing/retention/hiring....then they wouldnt have several THOUSAND 3rd party temp workers who have been temp working for years.

But they do, and they have had for several years, a big reliance on 3rd party temps.

No clue if this is legit, but ive overheard a SM joking that they are going to have more ECR than employees if it all keeps up.

Sadly there is no metric associated with costs for this issue, so it is not an issue.

Agreed, two people one my team left last month and it is addition by subtraction! All they did was complain, ask stupid questions taking me away from my job, always had some baby daddy momma drama, and never showed up to work. They usually looked and smelled like they never showered and looked half baked every time we were in office. You knew if you got in a file they worked it was going to be a mess you had to clean it up. Everyone added to my team except one of the new hires needs to be working at a Burger King or filling up someone's ice tea glass! No hiring standards does make it so much harder for people who can actually do the job and has to clean up their messes!

@1qmz. Sounds like county jail or prison. You have the non repeat short time offenders and life without parole. Luckily, most don't want to be in jail. 😂

I don't believe the bs the TM is posting , many areas of claims if not all are afloat via combination of skeleton crew plus ECRs plus pulling rom other segments to support the terribly low staffed numbers, all smoke and mirrors to make it look like everything is ok on the surface they call this lean staffing or just in time hiring but they know they cannot hire fast enough to keep up with people leaving, many do not make it past training because they see what's coming and the just bail out, heck many TMs have left too and there is a shortage of TMs.

9 employees in 5 years? Addition by subtraction? That's leadership? No wonder SF and the country is going down fast. Wait till they have no more and hit rock bottom. They may have to get off their high horse. Always remember! They are NOT better than you. Sometimes their very less than ethically. They are clowns in their circus.

I can imagine the TM will jump for joy! I've had 9 employees give their notice in the past 5 years and I'm not a micro-manager. Actually very chill and have very little drama with my folks. All but one of the resignation was addition by subtraction and I celebrated! It's Christmas. We're going to Applebees after this!
