Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Work ethic is your worst enemy here

It'll get you noticed, but not in a good way. Managers will see you as somebody they can keep piling more work onto because they know it'll get done and you won't complain. The less trouble you give them, the more screwed you are. It shouldn't be this way, but sadly, that's the Allstate way.

It’s pretty common at many places. Allstate loves when you don’t say no because they just continue dumping work on you and asking you to be parts of special projects and teams. This absolves them from having to hire. They know you’ll say yes. If these projects and extra work were fairly compensated, it would be one thing. Most end up doing a bunch of extra work and get an extra 0.5% raise. You might get thanked once or twice but the favors and extra work and very soon forgotten and ignored. If you’re still with the company and agreeing to take on all sorts of “special” assignments, make sure there’s some type of extra compensation or promotion involved.

Especially when you’ve been squatted and sh-t on as much as the Allstate employees have, in a pandemic. We will ever forget
