Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Half of Intel is redundant

Just collecting paycheck for doing empty ARs. Other than factory workers and TD where actual work happens and where everyone has a well defined role, the rest of the company is filled with freeloaders.

VPs galore - people with 10 direct reports are VPs. WTF? Hundreds of Fellows and few of them are actually adding value to Intel's products. IFS is all "strategy" people. Nobody knows how foundry works. Design groups are filled with program managers and planners.

Andy Grove would truly be devastated to find out what his supposed protege Pat has done to this crown jewel.

Someone please help fix this company. It is dying a little every day that goes by without any adult supervision.

80% employees live off the work done by 20%. That’s it.

TD is not as productive as it looks, of course the engineers getting things done in the fab are the ones making it happen but so many useless managers, group leaders, ICs, are just going to meetings and not getting anything real done.

I'm dead weight and I know it - mainly because I can't stand my new manager and he doesn't delegate any responsibility to me and others on the team. Just waiting around for a package. Please offer VSP now!

If TD is so good, how come Intel process is years behind TSMC?

Sadly IDM and IFS are delusional attempts to catch old mojo that is gone forever.

This focus will waste a lot of valuable time and money on two battles Intel can’t win and distracting and further ruining what ever little credibility and respect Intel has in the tech industry.

A truly sad ending to a once iconic company! Ah to follow the path of Kodak, Bell/ATT, let’s hope they can at least limp along like IBM

I don’t think Pat’s entirely to blame here. This has been building up for a long time. But I don’t think Pat is up to the task of fixing what’s broken. If he was, more drastic measures would have been taken in his first 18 months.

He has jettisoned some projects that were dead from the neck up, but what he’s done is like scooping water out of the Titanic one bucket at a time. He needs to explode the empires of countless VPs, and I don’t think he has it in him. If future quarters are as bad as Q2, bigger changes will be coming, but too little, too late.

I know, you know, Pat knows and BoD know that Intel is way overstaffed. But dufus Pat is not interested in laying off employees. He is only interested in his 300-400m 5 year package and exit in 2026.

TD and TMG are actually some of the worst offenders.
BK propagated the horrible TMG culture to the rest of the company like a metastasized cancer and destroyed Intel!

Lol more than half are on welfare. Multiply paygrade by 10 and that is percentage of takers.

The trauma required to remove the cancer would ki-l the patient.

baloney! TD is not immune. IMHO, PE's and PE's in training are the most worthless employees.
