Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

No good either way

Dell seems to me to be doing only short term planning, which of course creates problems in the long run. I'm anxious about the possibility of being cut given the state of the job market, but surviving layoffs is a trap.
Those who survive often become stuck, because what kind of personal progress can you expect in a company that has no long-term plans?

*Dell employees have a rep for being lazy and complacent.

And who hired them? You did! Shame on you!

Anon you must be a HR troll. Also most people at dell are burnt out from working more than one job and getting paid less than the market rate. You seem to be full of it.

Most people still at Dell aren't concerned about personal progress. Just making it to the next quarter. They have a job not a career - even those who look good on paper would have a hard time at most other jobs. Dell employees have a rep for being lazy
