D-mb managers at AT&T

Is that only my manager who don’t have proper knowledge about technology or most of the tech managers are in the same situation to waste AT&T resources without proper knowledge on tooling, which can do the work in matter of days instead of wasting human work force for months and years?

Have to agree. I am technical and shocked at the recent Manager, Director, hired to replace my boss who retired. I think they look for a different skill set perhaps to manage a team made up of technical and non-technical project manager types as it is certainly not a technical skill set. I think the Team is all perplexed as to why this person was hired and promoted into the position. A similar situation exists with the Architecture Team who also cannot fathom how or why their new Manager was hired. Three new Directors in all and one more clueless than the next. Maybe nepotism? If not the AVP who hired them can't pick a winner.

Maybe your manager has other skills, like I don't know, how to to speak proper English?

When the going gets tough, complain about a manager to make self seem smart.

When the going gets tough and you find out you manager is a useless mass of cells that the company cannot get rid of because nobody wants to be a Prem Tech 1st line, unless they are desperate for a job.

Had the best manager for 3 years. Now I got a d-mb manager who only knows to ask for your drivers license every time he makes a job visit. He can't remember what you said to him yesterday but this is what Ma bell wants. Get rid of 30+ year guys.

Just look at the Pajama Party Leader-in-Chief - and you wonder why Toxic-T is so mismanaged?

Training, what the heck is that! T no longer trains its techs! I haven't had one hour of training in the last 15 years from this company. They pretty much just throw you out there and say get it done! The contract provides for at least 40 hours of training per year for techs, but we get zero, nada, zilch, nothing!

Our L1 doesn't have a clue on how to do our job nor has she given any real effort to learn it. When she 'coaches' her subordinates her escape clause is "I'm not technical"...

There is a lot of that, especially in the Prem Tech world. There is not a manager in Core that you could melt and pour into the Prem Tech environment. That is unless they caught a case (DWI, possession, and such) and were "offered" a lateral transfer until they were "managed" out of the business. A lot easier to pop Prem Tech managers. Dime a dozen.

If managers had anywhere near the training the unions folks receive, well, I leave it there.

Is anybody else reading this stupid union nonsense? Another useless post and responses from overpaid and disgruntled union people complaining about “the management”. It’s a layoff board geniuses, go troll somewhere else.

Thats like managing a major league club and saying "I don't know baseball..."

Never will understand why T continues to hoard these types.

You sound like a back seat manager, mouthing off about manager to make yourself seem better than you really are. I hear it all the to time.

Fun part here is, lack of knowledge is completely fine, but few managers are not even ready to listen to some engineer trying to explain the benefits of implementation.

OP, talk about D-MB, you can't even construct a proper idea in writing! I have no idea what you just said or what you're trying to convey! Look who's calling the kettle black!
Time to get your GED!
