Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

There are many complainers

I too am one of them, although I know that our complaining will not change anything. Is there anyone who is happy with their job here? Sometimes it seems to me that even my boss, who does almost nothing, would like to go somewhere else.

Had a nightmare they shut Chattanooga down again and I was the top Carman to get laid off.

Think it was God's way of saying it could be a lot worse after stressing about a mediocre contract recommendation.

If you think being in the auto workers union will get you anywhere you are dead wrong , if you go on strike the autoworkers will not support you , the auto workers will cross your picket lines and take deliveries from your trucks , the only ones they support are the assembly plants themselves , I was in automotive sofr interiors for over 20 yers and believe me they will not support you.

For the ones who actually feel that the union will do anything for you, y’all are hilarious. RR unions dies a long time ago. If it were teamsters or auto workers, it’d be a different ball game.

Yeah, send your complaint to the union, FRA, local elected officials. Holy sh-t, does anyone out there have an ounce of faith in any of these completely corrupt institutions?? There all in on it!

The only way your complaints will create change is if you personally act on them yourself...with a letter of resignation. Even then the only change will be in your life and not in the railroad. If enough people resign it could have a meaningful impact, but even then plenty of room for doubt remains. The toxic, hyper-regulated, corporate driven work environment only gives you room to do one of two things...either adapt or get out.

Complaining is fine, but it’s only helpful when it’s directed to the right ears. Taking your complaints to an anonymous message board will give you the same results as taking them to your immediate supervisor…or their supervisors. For results you have to send your complaints to your union representatives so that they can be filed and acted on appropriately.

…or the FRA, or your elected federal representatives as the situation warrants…because you know they will always take the time to address your concerns.
