Q2 Townhall - Inflation Raises

Gotta love Darius laughing at the thought of giving us all raises to combat inflation. "If we give everyone raises for inflation are they going to be okay with pay-cuts when inflation goes down? Chuckles"

I do not know how he thinks inflation works, but it could drop down to zero for year over year next year and we would all still be feeling the impacts of inflation from this year because the no change in price from a price that was 9% higher is still much higher than the 3% raise. So unless there is deflation, we would still need a raise to keep up with inflation.

But I guess he doesn't get what we all feel since we make 0.00003% of what he makes.

Does he really think inflation is going to go negative any time soon? Since 1913 and especially since Bretton-Woods, I don't think inflation has ever gone negative. This clown needs to go if he doesn't even understand that.

DA is egging you on to leave, so they don't need to pay severance for layoffs
Understand many have no choice but stay and take the abuse. But what about the rest...

DA response gives further credence to Dilbert not being a cartoon, it's a chronicle.

Consistent with other management levels. Not impressed. The comments about bs'ing till the next quarter is true in so many ways. Focused on new hires instead of the people dedicated to success, interns instead of teams, and today instead of tomorrow. We are full blown reaction system. Sign of inept leadership, confirmed by the public statement that reduced inflation must mean decreased labor cost.

@1ovi
Now it's prepare your employees for no raise because we need to make sure that we get ours before they get theirs. And if needed, we take from them so that we can get ours. Our management has no buy-in with the company. These guys are going make their money before us peons get anything. In the real world, with genuine company owners, the employees get paid first by law. Owners have to suffer loss before employees lose theirs. Honeywell is a really scummy company!

Typical tone deaf response. Why would you expect anything else?

Huh. Honeywell seems to readily understand inflation when it comes to charging customers. Looking at a Honeywell quote right now that includes a line for "Inflation Surcharge" adding an additional 12% to an order that's already $15k.

D-mb d-mb enjoyed the upside of S&P 500 going from 666 to 4700 and home prices rising 50% while deploying furloughs and pay freezes all before COVID.

Revcogs programs have a lot of meaningless bullsh-t that needs to get done that will be accomplished on 42+ straight time.

What a stupid reply by DA. Inflation reduction doesn’t lower prices. It just slows the price growth.

I can remember once when we were close to deflation, and managers were told to prep employees for no raises because of it.

Why bother even listening to D. Just leave already. I did and not looking back.

Complaining does not change anything. You are making a conscious choice to stay even though this is not going to improve. Or you can decide to find another company that will treat you as a valued employee. They are out there. I found mine. So can you

Just out of curiosity, what do Honeywell employees - and Honeywell customers, potential customers, and competition - feel about Honeywell Connected Enterprises and Honeywell's sudden push to develop and sell software for various industries? Being asked to take a look at some opportunities in various product lines - and with software, that means moving to Atlanta.

Of course he didn’t mention Honeywell workers will never make up for years of lost wages when “the playbook” said no raises, lost wages from furloughs, or temporary pay cuts.

DA is only there to protect himself and the other members of the executive team. He should know that Honeywell's reputation with current and former workers is in the toilet and he seemed to sort of admit that when he mentioned trying to hire an upper level person. With the way people are leaving voluntarily and retiring, this company has a world of hurt coming up. I don't think they know how to handle it and are just BS'ing their way through it till the next quarter. The next quarter is all that matters!

I received a 14.5% raise and 10% lower healthcare costs last January by moving to a different company. You don't have to sit around and wait for the Honeywell CEO to give you a cost of living raise that will never happen.
