Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Jumping Ship

After Life and Retirement split up with AIG as Corebridge financial and became public, recent promotions were announced as well and its quite obvious how many redundant positions and roles are there on the top most of the organization, multiple presidents and claims of CEOs. The Head of Life got fired and the one that recently replace him that was announced throughout the company quit after a week. What a mess.... CRBG... Goodluck!

It's so sad watching this disaster slowly unfold. I'm looking for another job but I don't want to jump on the first boat passing, I'm taking my time looking for the right spot for me, the last thing I want is to have to regret my worklife at AIG. I have to admit that my boss is great and I like my colleagues, I'm not running away, but at the same time I feel the urge to move to a more stable company.. generally you go in a big company to feel more secure, otherwise there is no meaning...

I’ve noticed this as well. To make matters worse, the folks promoted certainly are not well liked; although I’m fairly sure that’s not necessarily surprising to most. Now we have multiple layers of managers of the same workload(s). I was hoping Corebridge would be less toxic, but it seems as though the leaders are allowing the biggest losers in the company to infiltrate and proliferate the toxicity. I hope this is a move to eventually get rid of them, but that’s likely a pipe dream. I cannot find another opportunity quick enough to escape this circus. Certainly have never witnessed or endured anything quite like it.
