Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Reputation

I used to be proud to work here. Not anymore. I am now appalled at the way State Farm is being managed. Does anyone at the top care about the reputation of this company anymore?

State Farm partnering with Disney? Boy are they in fantasy land. The heroes are the real good neighbors who tend to the customers. Ge-z! Nov 8 can't come soon enough.

My blood boiled when I saw the Marvel/State Farm collaboration. WHY??? Who are you trying to sell in this arena - kids/teens are going to ask their parents to buy State Farm insurance? Give me a break!
Most of us could use a raise; when you start looking around for the same position at other insurance companies, SF is not keeping up.

They like to put the church folks/leaders in management we get. Huge mistake. Most all the same mega church club. Huge mistake. $$$$

What is the Mafias reputation? Does a greedy person have a good reputation?

It is an insurance company. What do you expect? Reputation? FEMA settlement. All you need to know to know about reputation. How good is a neighbor when the neighbor's primary focus is extracting cash and labor out of others. Insurance companies never "help" anyone, it is a contract weighted to the benifit of the company. They control the claim settlement. This is how they make money. It is a money game and they are in it to win. Anyone in the insurance business to do good for humanity is delusional.

Reputation isnt a cost saving metric, so no.

They see its employees as costs that need to be reduced.
They see quality as taking too much time.
They see caring as inefficient.

Church leaders including local church leaders are way different then the CEO’s they are talking about here on this post. Also not all church leaders are great people either if you want to get into that also.

We aren't talking about "giving" a check. YOU were talking about the reputation and being "appalled".

And yet you aren't appalled enough to stop cashing the checks.

I guess you have learned to accept it.

If I were so appalled at something, I would do more than complain.

@1cqw. You make is sound like they freely GIVE me a check. SF "gives" you absolutely nothing. They want you to believe that Kool aid nonsense but never forget YOU work for it. Typical management hard sell nonsense.

I'm guessing you aren't too upset to stop cashing State Farms paycheck though.

@1odh-and I must call BS on your response. I know many successful people that are extremely virtuous. They are leaders in their church and communities. They are generous with their time and money to help others. You represent a personality that apparently feels “since I am not as successful as others they must have achieved their success by cheating or treating others badly.” It is how you rationalize your life. Holding up one person as a representative of all is wrong and demonstrates a willingness to embrace discrimination.

@nsx. All I can say to that is BS. I have so many examples of people in high places who have no conscience nor soul. I would never take a 24.5 million dollar bonus while my subordinates scream for help.

Spoken like one of life’s failures. Oh, I could have been a professional athlete or a Rhodes Scholar or a CEO but instead I chose virtues which most successful people have in abundance. What a joke. You are what your talent and drive achieves.

Because a person is wealthy does not mean they are virtuous. History proves that. Some people will not undermine their virtues for money.

That must explain why they have more than doubled the number of customers they serve and remain the dominant number 1 carrier in the U.S. Won’t even go to Capital where SF has more than GEICO and Progressive combined.

They're "reputation" went out the door 25 years ago. It's gone. Sometimes when companies get to big for too long, they lose their focus. Such is true with State Farm.
