I am fully aware that those times will never return, but lately I have been feeling nostalgic. Do you remember when it was actually fun to work here?
Perhaps it may seem incredible to new employees, but this place really used to be much more fun. Nowadays it is like a sweatshop.

I agree with previous response. Costco is pretty awesome. Especially when you compare it to Sam's Club. I go there every week. Great service. Great produce. And I love their pharmacy. We used to be like that. {{sigh}}
Yes, I remember the good ole days. We had bbq's for 30, 60, 90 days accident free. We had Christmas parties OUT OF THE CLUB, at fun places! Although menial, we got raises for our own performance. It was fun to work because most associates did their jobs and helped others when needed...unlike today where they complain about everything with good reason! Management has favorites, most team leads do nothing and have their favorites also. Its no wonder more and more shoppers turn to Costco.
What I remember fondly about 3rd shift is how every Friday I had to spend the first 2 1/2 hours by myself since everyone else had to come in at midnight to cut their overtime.
Our overnight crew also set a record of spending over $10,000 in one month on food, or so the rumor goes.
We did get in a little trouble when one night management found out we were skate boarding all over the club on the pallet jacks. Which included doing races around the race track.
And nothing gets the blood a pumping like drag racing forklifts. One on the grocery race track and the other on the hardlines race track.
I agree that there should be SOME fun. But poster seems to answer questions that I had about third shift not being able to pull their weight and first commenter seems to be the cause of my turmoil theses recent years. I used to have fun just doing my job and doing it well. No kindergarten bs, you come to work to get paid for your work. Now a days, it’s bs because only the hardest workers just get dumped on. Must be nice mr “how could it get any easier.” (Clearly just shows up to work and that’s probably it)
former 3rd shift here. we used to have basketball tournaments using the basketball hoop and stand from seasonal we would spent at least the first hour or 2 playing ball while our manager sat and watched us. on super bowl days it was an unspoken rule that when we came in we headed to the breakroom watched the whole game while snacking and talking shyt. when the game ended we would all spread out and zone the club extra nice to cover up. i fondly remember some times the manager would just light up a grill outside in the night air and wed all just sit eat and talk about life. work was not the priority those nights. We all have demons we fighting and sometime it takes a shift family to make things better. i worked with those friends for years. then the shift got eliminated now i see so many few faces everyday i dont bother learning their names they just disappear after a few days anyways.
Sure sure.... It's so fun now how could it have been any easier??
