Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Everybody is worried

Each person I talk to is worried about losing their job. Some think it'll happen this year, some believe next, but the common thread is that everybody is worried about potential cuts. I'm starting to wonder, does anybody consider themselves safe at Ford at this point?

I heard the bracket division is safest because Ford is afraid of lawsuits after Farley's faux pas. Transfer to brackets. Prosper.....

If you are a solid and productive worker in model E, you will keep your job at Ford. No other area in the company right now has the importance that model E does to make our future sustainable. Today's town hall showed that conclusively. The most important area of the company needs to grow, not be cut down.

It was great to see each of the company's leaders speak to their new roles and how everything feeds into model E. So excited for the future!

You wanna save your job? Go find $3 billion someplace. Otherwise another 5k are out the door! Do you seriously think there are more than 1k eligible or willing to retire?
Thankfully I was already broomed out so it’s all over except the crying for me.

Ford is part of a global order that is shaping a future that marginalizes the likes of the ones who once carried the water for them and helped build it.

Somebody nailed it. Ford wants to look and feel philanthropic. The vision for actual products people desire is secondary, or much, much lower priority. You get what you focus on.

Wake up ….this has been happening for 5-10 years in PD. Management will only replace or add headcount (that was previously in US) with FoM or GES (India). We have been working with FoM and GES (India) regularly as part of our team for years, training them and teaching them. FoM is focused on recruiting, when in the US we are letting people go. I could see this coming for years and if I weren’t part of the GRP I would be gone. I’m too young to retire…But if they freeze the GRP I will leave. The stock options won’t keep me here. They are losing value quickly….

If you have watched the staffing of salaried workers south of the border should give you a clear hint. Second read or listen to what JF has tells investors about his NA staff. Old not trainable (GEE JF /BF are both over 55 does that include them).
The recent re-orgs and the staffing tell you that NA salaried will go down substantially over the next 24 months. the people left after December you will notice more and more meetings with Mexico which means you are training them to take your job.
The one very clear thing about all this despite claiming transparency by JF there is no clear definition of where NA salaried folks fit into the future. especially ICE. I don't believe a thing JF tells us. his track record for facts & truth are very suspect.

The people who were let go recently were among the “safest” positions in the company. Anyone that thinks they are safe from layoffs is delusional.

To think that this company is a safe haven is inward looking. Just plot global market share (heck even US market share) to understand the irreversible damage that has been done. I pin this 100% on the family. Bill Ford is more interested to look philanthropic than run a business. I am not going to hold that against him however, what I will is you can’t have it all. Step down Bill for the sake of the company. Live off the trust fund, go donate to Antifa or something while you live in your gated mansion off the Huron River. Go be the liberal limousine rider you were always destined to be with your east coast Ivy League education. Stop making decisions for the company, focus on the Lions.

The F vehicles themself are not safe,
The F stocks are volatile
F can go for banruptcy
How can your job be safe.

Everybody except those with the last name Ford or Farley, the ones shareholders wish WERE worried about losing their jobs.
