Sometimes I have the feeling that the worse, more arrogant and incompetent a manager is, the more "protected" he or she is here. Unfortunately, our complaints have no effect.
Given that great employees are leaving because of such managers (and it is not easy to attract such employees for little money), the question is why is this company harming itself by keeping such people in managerial positions?
I use to work at a club in the mid Michigan area and was let go due to a rumor that I smoked weed. I went to managers several times and the GM about a merchandising manager who always comes to work high and it turns out I got in the cross fires for it. The manager that I was talking about was also rumored to be sleeping with our GM so I guess she made sure to cover her bu-t. I am glad I don’t work their anymore. I have heard she is running that building into the ground and lots of chatter about her and the manager’s affair.
In Michigan things are getting so bad there is going to be class action lawsuit. There has been so much age discrimination. Especially in Southeastern Michigan.
the club I work has lost 2 long term associates and another associate that has been there for 6 months in 1 week. They need to reel in these so called managers.
It is the protection of the good ole boys club. All are welcome just one rule protect number 1 and you shall be rewarded.
When the associates leave after an incident. Most associates do not follow up or try to get their issues addressed. So the managers and team leads feel invulnerable and continue managing and leading the same way with that no fear of getting in trouble.
I wish I knew. We have a
manager so bad people quit there first day after hearing her talking to other associates. It just happened again! We cant go to the GM cause he just tells her and she retaliates.
They will get two fragile, safe space seeking, useless pukes for every actual worker they run out of the building because they make too much. Good luck.
