Airbus scored another big win over Boeing with the news that Xiamen Airlines
is “switching to Airbus for its fleet growth, making the airline the newest
Airbus customer,” the manufacturer said in a statement.
Until now the airline, part of the China Southern group, has exclusively flown
Boeing aircraft.

The order comes nearly three months after four Chinese airlines – Air China,
China Eastern, China Southern and Shenzhen Airlines – placed a bumper order
for 292 Airbus planes, Worth an Estimated $37 Billion.
While weakened by the pandemic, airlines around the world are preparing for
an expected doubling of air travel in the next two decades,
something Boeing will not be participating in…

China was only buying Boeing due to the huge trade imbalance. With the tension over Russia there’s no reason for them not to just pick the best airplane which is airbus.

Leadership now realizes they can't do anything because of a total lack of engineering and manufacturing capability. They are desperately trying to remedy this, but no experienced engineer would ever be foolish enough to work for Boeing and certainly not in a loyal fashion for any length of time.

Airbus is now the #1 commercial airplane manufacturer in world and is well positioned to stay there until COMAC matures. Imagine where the USAF would be if the corrupt politicians that overturned the Airbus tanker win to Boeing's still non-1operational 40 year old obsolete 767 tanker.

Could you imagine where Airbus could be if they didn't invest their resources into the A380? A one time gift to Boeing utterly wasted.
