Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Maybe someone has an explanation

I don’t understand the need for all the sales teams first of all. Why are they still around? Its 2022 direct to consumer is the way to go. You have 3rd party, D2D, RIS, Retail (really makes sense?), and many more. Plus they compete against each other with different offers.

OP @5uot+1iKjmGO7. I don't want my question to sound provocative, but I too am interested in why someone thinks that there is a need for all these sales teams to be around?

I agree … especially since you have local techs that can upgrade copper customers to fiber and for your efforts we’ll give you a whopping 10 bucks… minus taxes of course:(

Who is MM - the HR lady?

The fact that all sales channels roll up to MM now is mind blowing.

Channel sales vs direct sales made sense in a past life. That business model is broken and those VP/SVPs are stuck in their ways.

Take a look at the new business models for car sales Tesla is direct ONLY, no need for a dealership and Ford is doing the same .

There have been some big changes and i would imagine more on the horizon. Those sales channels haven’t been hitting their numbers in months. One I see mentioned hasn’t in about a year. Now many channels report to MM or JS directly.
