Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Why does SF Own so many sub-tech start ups!

I’m kind of confused how SF every now and then will advertise cutting edge AI/Tech companies “they own” while cars are halfway driving themselves nowadays. Money laundering through tech?

I feel like the C-class people dont see a future in insurance, and therefore, will not invest in claims or claims employees, and instead, will focus on programmers so they can better data mine their customers and sell it.

The true irony is that the “tech” we’re forced to deal with in Operations is nearly unusable. The modernized stuff is really bad , doesn’t make sense, lacks key functionality…. The future ain’t looking bright

I feel like someone far too high up the chain, has made the decision, that we will be a tech company and will be migrating away from claims and insurance.

At least that what it feels like in claims. That the company has zero interest in claims, insurance, or anything related to it.

Its what it feels like when i look at job openings, and see how much they want to pay a programmer who makes products that are a nightmare for the end user to use, versus the claims employees we desperately need to...you know...do the stuff were suppose to do as an insurance company....

Your response is so ignorant and inaccurate it belies intelligence. Feel sorry for you.

Regulated by who? Old people who can’t program, read code, or understand AI is just if and then statements, and computer lucidity is impossible?

Drive safe and save just takes braking, and acceleration data. from many reviews I’ve seen it does have a lot of sub par reviews, simply because in most cars PCM’s aren’t designed to tell you that you are a good, or bad driver.

@xwq. And you can't buy a politician nor a regulator? You watch too much bo-b tube to believe you can't. Only the devil wants to buy your soul in exchange for their evil.

SF has always invested in car manufacturing and later tech related industries to learn about latest technology advances and in some cases build partnerships. Drive Safe and Save and ADT are 2 high profile examples.

LOL! SF settled a 23 year 8 billion demand lawsuit for 1 days worth of revenue! The plaintiff lawyers caved and SF took advantage. Money laundering ? You watch to much bo-b tube . Insurance industry is one of the most heavily regulated in the nation-both state and federal level. They have outside auditors who literally have offices at CHQ they spend every day there.

If you pay out 250 million in a RICO lawsuit, why not be involved in money laundering? Crooks are crooks.
