Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

It is greener on the other side!

I left Allstate over a year ago. I’m more present in my conversation with family, and much happier at my new place of employment! I also got a huge raise thinking I would have to take a pay cut, which was wrong! I feel bad for the ones left at Allstate. Managers don’t speak to you with respect and they all have attitudes. There were only a few good leaders left. It used to be a good place, but it was soon corrupted and the workload is ridiculous. Go find a new job if your miserable! Trust me, there are great ones out there with kind and respectful leaders!

I actually love working with my manager and my team here at Allstate. I’ve unfortunately had my fair share of working with horrible, lazy, or selfish managers and teams and find that they really do make or break a job experience. I think if Allstate prioritized who they hire as management, it would be beneficial to decreasing turnover and increasing morale.

Allstate’s philosophy as far as I could tell (with the company 15 years) was always that the employees should feel lucky to have a job there. That was the extent of their efforts in retention and employee development. Other companies don’t take that approach. I left, several of my peers left, and we are all in different companies and we all say the same thing. Definitely greener.

So why do you post on Allstate discussion board?

So in the last week, Allstate is blamed for a heart attack, being detached from your family, just to name a couple. And you want accountability from your company? Start by looking in the mirror.

More present in conversation with family? Seems like you were blaming a job vs thermal reasons
