Got the call earlier today that I am safe. My understanding is that this is going to be a significant hit. The boss seemed exasperated when I got my call this morning.

@cei+1iQCNRlk So sorry this has happened. You are right on all accounts.
@dmx+1iQCNR1k - hey dipsh*t it IS real. How do I know? I'm in HR and I got the call from my boss my services are no longer needed. October 6th is my last day on payroll. From my understanding it is company-wide. A large number. Thanks to horrible management at every level, worse executive leadership , horrible economy and staggering inflation thanks to Biden, the company had to cut expenses.
I expected this and very glad to finally be away from this sh*thole of company. I've seen more bad leadership and bad management at every level of the org than any other company I have worked for. This Titanic of a company is sinking fast and you would be smart to leave the dumpster fire.
No way they find another job in 2 weeks.
For the person who posted below and all reading. Obviously, you aren't a management employee.
It's been quite some time that I recall of a very large scale layoff where HR assembles 100's of people onto the same call.
No matter, the usual way it works. Two calls kinds of calls, one for the impacted and one for the not impacted.
The boss may call individually or as a group on either type of call.
This is totally how it has been done for quite some time.

Op said the boss called to say he was safe.
Sounds fake - anything of scale is done on a call with HR. Highly unlikely the boss would call to say anyone is safe.
They ask if you’re refrigerator is running.
What do they say on the call?
Just got the call. Part of the 20%. I thought it was just Sales but it was my group too.
Anything in Sarita's org?
Healthcare sales?
This is not Fake news! This is related to those who have pensions and over 60.
(Global) Enterprise/Healthcare sales/management hit! It's real - 2 wk notice after 23 years..
I know the 20% mentioned may be nationwide, but in absence of any official announcement I doubt Rosenbaum would make any reference to it.
Come on people, we've got to cut 40K from the payroll, this only accounts for 300! We haven't even got a good start on headcount rationalization. Get real please.
20% cut is nationwide not just Paul Rosenbaum team
I can confirm sales is getting the axe
Is this speculation or fact. If fact, when is this going to happen?

Sounds fake.
Also the post about Rosenbaum - I doubt Rosenbaum would say anything about the scope of the reduction- for example 20%.
Rosenbaum is service and operations. Of all places to cut it shouldn't be customer service.
Friend just called and said he was let go as part of the 20% reduction under Rosenbaum.
Mobility? Org?
Very sad.
This is happening in Small and mid market business under JVB
So so vague! If you got the call and your good what dept do you work in?
So someone mentioned Retail? Managers and asst managers?
Happy Holidays from AT&T!
I can confirm sales is getting the axe. Reduction in product portfolio is a main culprit. Fiber isn't being sold at the expected pace after the 20 Billion Dollar investment, and that which is being sold is at a lower rate due to shift in the market. Technical Sellers especially TSCs or Principle Systems guys are being hit big time.
What department?
Fake news!
The contractors are the only ones being let go
