Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

BROUGHT UP QUESTION OF RETURN TO OFFICE TO LEADERS TODAY

Had our monthly department town hall about returning to office requirements today. We are not of any one location but we all at one point were in an office before the pandemic.

We were told that while they do not know of any firm dates or requirements that the matter is under a lot of discussion within the company and that while there is no indication that this is imminent they stressed that we need to remain open and prepared for a possible return to an office based culture if that is what is decided in the future. But as of now no set decision it seems. They did indicate that this would be cost driven if the decision to return to a widespread in office was decided.

OP asked Allstate Leadership a question and got a rambling non-answer.

Is it a day that ends in a y?

First…things are always subject to change…like your employment status.

Second why is a return to office an issue on a layoff site? Seems like an oxymoron….accent on the mo--n….on this site.

We were told earlier this summer that there were no plans to return to office at all and now over the past week we were told we are probably going back to in the office but likely not until after 2023. So I guess it is subject to change. Who knows anymore.

I wouldn't worry too much because they sold the building. Maybe like Caterpillar, Boeing, Citadel and possibly McDonald's, they will relocate out of the area entirely.
