Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How can they slow down attrition

The pay raise alone wouldn't keep me here. I'm not sure that Intel has the ability to keep anyone with marketable skills anymore, because other companies offer much better opportunities in every sense - not only higher pay, but also a healthier atmosphere and better prospects for the future.

It’s too late.

All the good people have left a long time ago.

Ever wonder why Intel has so many failures?
Only the bottom tier engineers have stayed.

Overall money assigned for chips act is $280B. Intel can milk government forever. Intel is all set for next 15 years for free money from government. I think intel is best company to work for job safety right now.

These managers think chips act will save them. They can beg money from the government and build fabs while the current fabs are lagging behind the competition.

Sure thing geniuses, in 10 years from now t and s will be building sub-nm chips and intels public funded fabs will still be churning out 10nm chips.

The only orders intel will get will be from the government and manufacturers who don't carry about performance. These fabs will be a big drain on tax payers. The governments will build them and keep on bailing out these non competitive fabs with large tax payer funded orders.

The chips act funding is wasted on players with a bad track record like Intel. Intel management will probably use this funding for stock buy backs and divert it to other non productive projects. There seem to be many of those nowadays 🤣.

Working at Intel now is like working at GM in the 70s. Riding the coattails of their prior glory and abandoning anything that doesn't come easy and/or doesn't have ridiculous margin. Not to mention the "paint-by-numbers" (spreadsheet hero) management approach instead of actually engaging your people. All the money and all the equipment in the world is useless if your people aren't trained or not motivated to make things happen.

dude you should be lucky to be at intel. All intel employees hardly work 2 hours. Find another side gig. Current pay for < 2 hours/day work is best in industry.
