Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

63 percent of Americans say their wages cannot keep pace with cost of living

If you work at Windstream then you are part of this group
The executives seem proud of this accomplishment and of course they are taking care of themselves very very well. Have you applied for a job yet?

"Not just in Georgia. All cst & bst get 8% each year as long as metrics are met until they top out."

Yep, TT promised Georgie CST/BST 8% a year if they voted against unionization.

After it happened, legal had to explain to him that it was illegal to coerce that way. The only way he could end up not being in legal trouble was all CST/BST got 8% every year.

I was told that this decision resulted in almost 2,000 headcount being reduced in that year.

"Get those optional anonymous engagement surveys they force you to take in and you might get a raise."

In case you were unaware, those surveys are NOT as anonymous as you think

We make up for the lack of raises by receiving a free company truck to use as our personal truck. No insurance , no maintenance, no gas out of my pocket and don’t even have the company logo on the side. It’s a WIN WIN , that’s a pretty nice perk for me. No raise needed!

Seems some don't understand many Windstream employees only get one 3% raise every three years in other words a 1 percent raise annually. Can you imagine looking to buy this company knowing these employees are leaving or quiet quitting. And these employees are the most difficult to find - educated, skilled and and loya (used to be); Yeah fix that then market the company

If you are a cst in georgia you get 8% every year. Why cant the rest of us get more than 3%?? Its because they tried to get a union going and for not doing so they get the 8%. Must be nice

We could try unionizing, that way we can work together to get better wages.

Why should WE do any better than the other 63 percent? This has been going on since the 80s with the anti-union sentiments of the ultra-capitalists and the stupid followers of that unfettered capitalism cult.
