I have more work than I can handle, and it doesnt stop. Theres no time to train people up, and I'm only putting in the 40. If the work is interesting enough, I'll take the overtime. But before they started paying incentives, revcogs, straight OT, whatever... you betcha it was a 40 hour work week.
I work no more than 20 minutes a day and then just try to look busy. Easy money. Easy money. Easy money!
Rofl.. @ltb .. let me guess .. senior director who still thinks things work like they did 40 yrs ago. This company is not that company anymore.
We fill out timecards the way our boss in a foreign land tells us to fill it out.
I've been on the factory floor longer than most ...
back when we were a family and we worried about the mission,
then about product quality and pride as the company tried to be GE ,
sometime in 2005-2007 process and milestones became king,
Followed by just the "lowest cost work-centre",
That lastest a long time ...first outsourcing SW then whole factories,
Every fad fizzled and the workers grew angry and frustrated...
We must need better managers!
So i lined up for auditions and sang my "burning platforms"
Got a bit part in the honeywell theatre of fear,
That show sure folded fast.
now they just want hours...
what's next ?
If you do not have enough work and a charge number, politely ask (in writing) for a written set of tasks you are allowed to perform for the charge numbers you are authorized to use. (save/print the emails/IM's - document, document, document as they will deny responsibility and use verbal instructions against you).
If you have items identified in your goals but are not allowed to work due to not being able to charge, identify the problem in writing as an issue to your management. If you don't trust your manager, include their boss. Charging hours for work not being performed will get you terminated. Your manager wants you to do this to cover their B-EEI-hind, but it is their job to get you work and make sure it is getting done.
What do u mean by promotion, how?
Do I hear some type of promotion coming?
Is this a way to identify people with no work
No work here. My boss ( queue accent). Told me to follow directions and fill out my time card with 9.5 hours per day as instructed.
Slim pickings for most of our staff. Yet they want 46 hours per week? Sc--w that…
