Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Layoffs and firings are happening

New CRO fired Aaron Baker (President of East sales region) and his boss Shawn Murray this week. I hear that a ton of sales people and Biz dev managers are being putting on PIP if they are not at 1/2 of their number for the year. That is a huge number of people.

I think all the farmers are going back to hunting in the next few months. That is going to cause a lot of people to leave voluntarily or by force. It is a sinking ship at Windstream and their customers know that and are churning in a big way.

I don’t understand the need for all the sales teams first of all. Why are they still around? Its 2022 direct to consumer is the way to go. You have 3rd party, D2D, RIS, Retail (really makes sense?), and many more. Plus they compete against each other with different offers.

@TT silver anniversary of doing nothin

Looks like TT is around for another year or so. He renewed his contract a day PRIOR to filing for bankruptcy.

Under the new terms of the agreement, Thomas will continue to serve as Windstream's president and CEO, as well as keep his seat on the company's nine-person board from Feb. 19, 2019 to March 1, 2024

Under the five-year pact, subject to annual renewals, Thomas’ annual base salary will not be less than $1,000,000 and his annual bonus target will not be less than 188% of his base salary, which amounts to more than $1.8 million. Following the deal’s signature on Friday, Thomas was also awarded a one-time cash award of $2 million that will vest in three years.

Cogent bought all the sprint wireline business from T-Mobile for $2. Then got a $700 million buy back services included for $2. Windstream without Uniti is worth -$2.
