The GOP resolution - introduced by Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Commission Ranking Member Richard Burr (R-NC) and Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MI), would have required railroad workers to adopt the outlines of a labor deal, The Hill reports.
So how many union members vote republican? Against their own best interests.

If anybody believes there is one politician in DC that truly has "the peoples'" best interests at heart they are sadly mistaken. Railroaders have better pay and benefits than most, but it comes at a cost. What sacrifices does a politician make to have their pay and benefits, none that I see. So how could someone come from a position of empathy towards a group of people they share nothing with? Labor in this country has to fight for themselves, nobody is really there to lend a hand.
I just hope the railroaders and their families from North Carolina and Michigan remember this when these clowns come up for re-election.
Burr and Wicker have accepted money from railroads in past, they are bought and paid for which is why they wrote that resolution
I don't believe my best interests are solely related to this job. However, I fail to see which of my interests are served by republicans. I don't walk around in fear so I feel no need to carry a we-pon everywhere I go. I don't feel that more rights for other groups threaten me in any way. And as far as the economy goes, we have a system where the majority of us have very little to show for our sweat compared to the untold riches that flow to the very top. Republicans and many democrats serve money at the expense of everyone else. Bernie and a select few democrats are the only ones taking about this stuff.
Say what you want about Bernie, he is the only one to stand up for us. Can't agree with everything he does but he did stand up!
Imagine believing this job is the only thing relating to our best interests. But good for him just the same. Both parties are corrupt in their own ways.
