Getting out

Getting out as so many have suggested has actually proven to be a challenge in itself given the poor experience I have had to try and develop on…..lots of interviews for roles, several second rounds and yes I am now sitting on an offer for a company I want to work for - but I truthfully feel the experience I have gained in the past 12-18 months is utterly worthless

Not quite as easy as just getting out, what have others found?

OP again here

I accepted a role and look forward to leaving……big big life lesson in red flags in career, I am blessed to be moving to where I am going but other companies were not fussed on the type of experience I can bring, but I am going to nail this next role as I know I need to deliver some seriously impressive stuff to get my experience back up to a correct level

In the uk, its a disaster. no decent jobs and the pay is about the same.
My hard earned excel skillset is as least as good as everyone else and we've all passed our EXCEL MASTER exams in the last few years (well I cheated really).
I deserve my £65k a year. New DXC people just don't have the respect to their elders anymore, I'm old enough to be your grandfather - you young 'uns, work harder, I want to retire soon.

Now leave me be for a few hours - I am a very busy important person and I need a little snooze. Zzzzzz

Took me 6 months. It takes time to realise that the boring CV needed a complete overhaul to make a larger version that you never use other than to be the baseline to tailor down to a 2 page specific one to each job you apply for and also the words to use to get you through the machine screening, if you use those stupid upload and send to 50 agency type approaches. Just used 2 or 3 good agencies and let them do the work. Go into interviews knowing everything that no-one else does about the company. Be confident. I did get a good pay rise, but that is probably just luck, as it is difficult, especially if you have been in one job a long time, to then get back into the whole finding a job routine and learning to 0lay the CV interview game. I still keep the CV and linked up to date when ever I deliver something big or accomplish something I am proud of. But if I had to apply to another job again, I have agents I know by name and have met them and I’d just let them know or set up a list ide in auto search and email thing, I don’t think I could be bothered putting in all that search effort myself again.
