Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Let me know

Hi all
I want out, how can I talk to my manager about getting laid off. I am planning a mental health break as workload is high stress … I’ll hunt for a new position early next year
Thank u

Wear Sprint shirts and hats... have an opinion that isn't your manager or director's opinion. You'll get the axe.

Talk to your manager if they are offering voluntary severance.

Tell your manager that you are sui-idal. They will talk you down off the ledge. Apply for FMLA, take all the time you need to get well. By the time you return to work, all this will ancient history.

Layoffs were ultimately decided at the Director and VP level. Individual managers were brought in and told who was being laid off. Some of it was performance based, some was, let's say, personal interaction based.

Good luck getting your Manager/Director to get you a layoff severance. Chances are slim and none that happens. For those who stayed, you don't get a package. You get beat up until you resign.

T-Mobile handled this layoff poorly. They should have checked if employees were interested in voluntary severance if they were so concerned with trimming costs. They could still activate a program on T-Nation to allow employees to volunteer for a selection process.
