Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Rather than a survey to chosen few, why not have an open VR?

That would give our clueless leaders a clear indication of what staff think about things.
It would also get rid of all those expensive resources with poor tone, that DXC clearly what to get rid of.
After all if staff are expected to put up with some "short term pain" why can't DXC?

We are planning to send the survey to all members of the Royal family, Truss and Boris.

Sorry for those of you not on EMEA townhall, our sorry excuse for a leader announced there would not be the usual employee survey this year instead there would be a different survey and targeted at a select few not everyone. I imagine it will just be HR and a few new joiners & graduates, which means it will be positive and can be used as evidence that they are doing the right thing.

But our deluded leaders think most of us are happy, unless of course they were lying in the town hall!

If the company did things by the book they absolutely would open VR to everybody. In the old CSC days they would open up VR to 50%ish of the workforce or at least all the businesses where they wanted to make cuts.

They have even done VR company wide. The issue they would have is IF they got 500m of cuts from the first 1000 staff, they would have to take them, anyone and everyone! and the ones they wanted to get rid off they cant get rid because someone has taken their place.

This is for the unions to discuss, sadly our Unite union is missing!!

If you apply for VR, they are not obliged to give it to you, equally you do not have to take the offer if they do accept your enquiry (that's all it is till its accepted).
They know exactly who they want to get rid of , if your name comes up on a VR request and you are on the list, it makes life easy for them.

They would never open it up to full VR because they know with the current staff feeling across the company that too many employees would opt for it which would have a sudden detrimental impact to operations. Hence they are willing to tolerate the current risk impact of natural attrition of 22% and the current WFR pace

Agree - have a vote (Every year) and do 360 degree appraisals between employee and their managers - line, work / project based. Also every one in company have vote on CEO, CFO, HR, upper board renumeration package and whether they up to job.

If management is not up to the job like CEO, etc then make them take deep pay cut, renumeration bonus or at the worst / best - make them redundant.
