Untrained AEs=DCSEs in this instance as well as any historical EMC Account Managers or Dell AEs. Neither legacy seller understand more than their remit in 90% of situations.

When looking at solution selling a power point and competitive doesn't win. What the customer needs wins the day.

To the person asking about iDSCE...you're a TSR.....learn compute/storage/networking and keep dialing out.

DCSE...is that a real position? I'm a storage seller and the DCSE doesn't know where workloads come from which is compute. Storage supports compute not the other way around.

"VPs, Field CTOs, and RSDs"... now there's some dead weight worth letting go. Dell's always had too many quarterbacks (living nice off of other peoples hard work) and not enough talented players in the field.

Yes, ISG DCSE’s in Central and West were notified last week. There are only a few SPS’s left in the company (15 out of 45 are left since last year) and most will be phased out. It’s a redundant role to the DCSE and Dell has said they’re eliminating redundancies. Although untrained, AE’s will soon be responsible for selling the entire data center and getting all customers on APEX (aaS). Once a customer has one product in APEX, they will have a Customer Success Manager (basically a Dell concierge) that will upsell them and get the customer’s entire infra in APEX. This will eliminate even more Dell sales jobs in the next 2-3 years because the CSM will control the account. SE’s/SA’s should be safe because Dell is struggling to retain engineering talent, especially after the uncertainty of job security after this recent RIF. Looming over Dell’s EMC debt and an uncertain economy is also the potential VMware sale. I know it’s frustrating to those laid off but congrats on getting out on good terms at least. You’re probably going to land in a better spot anyways.

Ahh the Anxiety of being insecure and the misery at Dell and many companies. Go learn to farm.

So far no DCSE or SPS but some VPs, Field CTOs, and RSDs.
