Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Career advancements

Being stuck in a career rut is nothing unusual at Intel. Almost everyone tells me that I should leave at early signs of stagnation. I am interested in those who, despite limited opportunities to grow a career here, still managed to progress. Is there anyone who can say that he or she succeeded thanks to their engagement, dedication and hard work alone?

15 years, top grade. Pushed through college and encouraged to apply for positions.

Then get blocked when I do 🤣

I don't experience any true intellectual growth opportunities in the fab. There just isn't much work that is interesting or challenging after a few months of learning about it. You can make pretty good money grinding out daily tasks, but if you're looking to learn I suggest expanding your skills on your own and jumping into another position

I was blocked from growth opportunities quietly in a way that management thought I could not detect. I am a high performer, and I suspect they just wanted me to keep doing the same job well forever. I have a little secret up my sleeve that they won't expect in the upcoming weeks. My guess is you would be well served to find a new opportunity and never look back. Good luck

Avoid low growth companies.
It’s like playing life in hard mode.
