Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Layoffs will create more problems than solve!

We all know that well-planned layoffs can help a company get back on track. However, I do not believe that these layoffs will solve any problems in the company at all. Moreover, I think there will be even more of them.

In any company when there are layoffs, the employees that are very good that the company wants to keep tent to see what other options they have and interview at other companies (for job safety, growth and pay increase/better benefits). That is what I am worried about, if our really good coworkers leave.

In typical times, you are likely correct. Yet there is nothing typical going on here. Your comment reads as if you have not followed any of the facts going on. Layoffs are not a redirection to try to get a bump in stock as they may have in the past. Layoffs are NOT OPTIONAL.
Avaya fudged some information to the market, Problem is they did this for a long period of time. This is very serious. And if you want Avaya to have any legacy and any value in its reputation moving forward, then get on board as the ship has sailed. Layoffs are not optional. It is layoffs or shut the doors. Period.
