Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Not getting salary raise or promotion

I’ve been in my team for a long and contributing beyond my grade level. hired as RCG 2 years ago. During insights my manager said I’ll get a salary raise and promotion but the day has never come in a year. Should I change my team at intel or leave for another company?

There are so many other good companies that you can build your career. Why would you stick around this he-l ho-e?

If you don't get promoted or get a pay raise, you will be on the chopping block for the next round of layoffs.

Your boss has actually decided your fate for the next layoff.

Leave Intel ASAP.

Intel is in a declining to flat market (PCs).
That means profits stay flat or decline in the long run.

That means there is a fixed pie that must get divided amongst the employees.
Without growth in that pie, it becomes very difficult for lower level employees to rise as the employees above have nowhere to go.

With a fixed pie, it's a zero sum game. A promo for you means someone else has to lose something. Avoid low-growth/no-growth companies as you will stagnate in your career.

You must not be one of the preferred groups that get promotion for nothing
