Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Once you don't care anymore

I don't care anymore if I get fired. The pay level became so low compared to the outside, that finding another job is no threat anymore.

Manager asked me to jump into another account for technical firefighting.

Told him to go look in those countries where merit based payment is a thing. I'm not feeling comfortable doing more highly skilled work and overtime without adequate pay.

He came up with my performance goals. I reminded him I didn't set any because it doesn't make a difference to me whether I reach them or not.

He can't fire me because he needs me. I'm one of the DXC people our client is still willing to talk to.

Spoiler: I'm going to hand in my notice next month

Quite right. If there is no incentive for being good at your job and no disincentive for being shyte, then you might as well do the bare minimum, or less.

Good that you told manager where to stick it and hope you got / about to land a new job. If you do hand your notice in - take rest of time with DXC as holiday, sit back and certainly don't bother doing any knowledge transfer - look after yourself.

If you do stay then do bear minimum and don't do any more than your 40 hours week - not worth doing more to this cesspool of a company.

Just get out. DXC is the worst employer I ever worked for. Get your CV up to date, get your interview skills up to date, and leave.

Trust me when I say that leaving DXC was one of the best moves I made in the last 10 years.

2 week notice is the norm, but since the company doesn't do that you don't need to ether
