Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

🥂🍾 CHEERS to the Non-YES People!

The real trailblazers? Innovators? Leaders? The People who refused to be YES-(Wo)Men!
Those are who we should be 🎉 Celebrating! Those who took the hard road to do what was right. Those who spoke TRUTH. Those we lost because they did not follow the alpha Leader flavor of the Month. Guess what? When people leave Avaya, and interview with an organization, their Avaya reputation has been lifted by the awesome talent who left Avaya and proved themselves. The middle management who remains. The middle management who has thrived under dysfunction? Those are who we need to be worried about. Anyone who went out standing up to the dysfunction. Standing up for their Employees. Standing up to Avayas lack of HR. Lack of Ethics. Lack of Integrity. Some may have gone out in 🔥, yet they stood up. They are solid people. Cheers to you all. You all should be taking a victory lap.

Besides financial deceits, check out Monster article on other reasons why this company has continued on path of failure:
https://www.monster.com/career-advice/article/workplace-bullying-what-can-you-do?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email_crm&utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_term=usen&utm_content=Art_1_CTA_button

I can relate to a few, especially "The Gatekeeper" . If having to ask several times why things appear to be a secret, then there is something wrong. Indirect/indiscreet bullying is a real thing.

Types of Workplace Bullies
The mean-spirited prankster. Like the class clown in high school, this person plays jokes on co-workers. Sure, some office gags are perfectly innocent, but there’s a line between playing a harmless prank and intentionally humiliating someone.
The jerk. Some people, like the jerk, are simply mean by nature. This person brings a toxic attitude to the office environment by delivering angry or condescending remarks to their co-workers. Monster poll results show that 23% of those who were bullied at work, were victims of aggressive tone, language, or emails.
The saboteur. This bully’s agenda is to undermine your every move and prevent you from succeeding at your job. Saboteurs view their peers as competitors that they need to squash—not collaborators.
The constant critic. This person, typically in a management position, talks down to direct reports and picks apart your work.
The gossip. Every office has one, in fact gossiping was a frequently cited form of bullying in the Monster poll (20%). It can really take a toll on your job performance as well as tarnish your reputation.
The gatekeeper. Taking a more indirect approach, this person withholds resources that you need to succeed (e.g., a boss who doesn’t provide you with adequate time to complete a project).

So true. The most loyal, dedicated employees were the ones smart enough to speak up. The ones that still profess "we will be successful" and "I believe in Avaya" are not dedicated and loyal employees. They are self absorbed narcassist who are addicted to collecting the paycheck and ensuring each empty m, non results KPI is ✔️ off the list. If they were dedicated to Avayas successful they would accept a paycheck just to self promoted their individual brand

Unsung heroes. Honestly, Alan Masareks quickest path to success is to host a learning session with all the employees who spoke up, whether they gave up and resigned or were pushed out for going against the yes-man rules. He will save himself months and months of time in identifying the most optimal route toward success.
