Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Had enough

Since almost half the unions are folding, hopefully the remaining will stick together and get what they want. Go down fighting, not rolling over like a lapdog. Hats off to the ones who aren’t taking any sh*t from the carriers anymore.

The railroads want 1 man crews, higher profits, and Precision Scheduling...let them have it, this Friday at 12:01 am. Give them what they want...complete power & control. These trainmasters, division superintendents, and corporate @ssholes have been asking for this, so let them have it...GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT!

This isn't a strike or a lockout or a work stoppage or self-help...this is a WAR! There is no turning back, there is no pos, outdated railway labor act, there is no congress, there is only working people fighting to be treated like human beings.

I don’t work for the railroads anymore thank God for retirement. But after the comment labor does not make the railroads profit stockholders do … I would say hold my beer and hold out for what you want fair wages and a cap on insurance , 2 person crews . If their is no cap on insurance your going to loose your raise anyway . Some of you only get one day a month of on road crews and a sick day a year , not even close to the outside world . If your union caves replace the leaders. The 1000 bonus per year how’s that going to help you on wage negotiations ? Seiu did that on a contract before and now their wages are falling further behind with every contract.

All the media talks about are wages. Nothing mentioned about the workers forced to work endless OT and being on call. No paid sick days, no medical cap. Also, nothing mentioned about working on good faith for 3 years with no raise or no contract. I believe most people think that we are just crybabies but that’s because they don’t know what’s behind the media’s front. A strike will drive prices up and we will get blamed for that I’m sure. It’s how the RR and the media will present it. Workers are just asking for fair treatment. I salute any worker that does their job and votes NO to this slap in the face.

All the "papers" neglected to even pick up the story before less than a week out from a strike. So their credibility is nil. Knowing what we know about it, we see the ignorance "reporters" have which proves everything about fake news.

That’s right. Now the Carriers are cutting some services starting Monday. It’s a ploy to make labor look bad. All any of the papers are talking about is historic pay increases. No one seems to care about all the other issues. Labor should walk out and make a stand. The day of the strong unions is in the past. This is the chance to make a comeback. Anyone who folds to this contract is a fool. What do you think the next contract will look like? Last chance people. Get rid of your international leaders and make a damn difference.
