Honestly, what do they actually do? My manager is in meetings all day everyday. Yet, nothing ever comes from it? What can they possibly be talking about 8 hours a day? My manager never has time to meet with me because she's always in a meeting? I got a good idea....Why don't the managers chip in and start handling claims. Maybe if they did, we wouldn't be overworked and people would stop leaving by the dozen each day. Allstate has way too many chief's and not enough Indians.

Honestly with some of you, it is like babysitting an adult. Im in a lot of meetings to plan out how to get the department better. I am often sitting with my workers and helping them or reviewing their work. I will give you there are a ton of meetings that could have just been an email, but I'm usually doing other work during those. Sadly, we do have to be extensions of upper management and their voice for the direction of the department. It is a mix of good and bad, but just like most of you we don't have a ton of say in what is going on so we have to put on our happy face and sell their BS to you.
Probably busy handling your customer escalations, ASAP complaints, DOI complaints and out of control pending…
They kiss a. S. S to each other to keep their own jobs
The last post is funny, "They probably excelled and offered a promotion" we all know the Allstate promotion process is all about who sucks up the most and the longest. Allstate has been notorious for not promoting workers that excell, only the nosers move forward. The rest of us refuse to sell our soul to a mindless hierarchy that is clueless. The worker bees that excelled and promoted have been in charge for years now and look where we are at. The direction Allstate has gone in the past few years was not implemented by excellent thinkers, excellent thinkers refuse to buy into outdated corporate madness.
Always remember that your manager most likely did your job at one time. They probably excelled at it and was offered a promotion to oversee whining sniveling babies like you. If you want to live in misery the rest of your life, keep your current attitude as it will prevent you from any promotional opportunities going forward.
Managers are basically just an extension of upper management's voice. They have to repeat and do what upper management says. It's similar to a babysitter watching kids. That's literally all they do and make sure we are in line. I'm not a manager. I'm a regular worker
