I knew this place was a mess even while I was still here. However, only now, after I left and saw how it could be better, only now do I regret not looking for a way out much earlier.
The problem is that after Allstate it's hard to get used to a better company. How long did it take you to "detox" from Allstate and recover from the horrible managers here?

Here’s the thing. It’s actually very simple. It’s something we’ve all been told a million times in our lives. TREAT PEOPLE HOW YOU WANT TO BE TREATED.
They stopped doing it. They decided all band D and under were NOT bonus eligible even after pretty significant earnings that were touted in 2020 and 2021. In fact, raises remained similar to what they always were. They also failed to engage employees on any sort of coherent strategy. TRANSFORMATIVE GROWTH is not appealing to anyone particularly when you’re losing market share and your product is too pricey.
When you fire employees who have loyally showed up year after year, contributed, and then leave remaining employees with no resources, then it’s a confusing message. When that confusing message never gets addressed, it’s clear there’s no one steering the ship. This is an absolute failure of leadership in the highest degree. The 2020 layoffs proved it. This company has absolutely no direction. At least that’s the message the front line employees are receiving. They can expect further attrition to continue. What a shame.
It is nice to realize when you leave insurance that other companies treat adults like adults.
I think I’m going to need therapy once I finally quit/get laid off…..I would now but my sh---y health plan won’t cover it. Ironic.
It's actually pretty obvious to people who come to Allstate after spending part of their career at other companies. Toxic culture, lack of accountability, inability to make decisions...
For me, it’s been about 4 months and I still feel like I have PTSD. And when I ask for autho, and actually get it without a certain rude EC picking my eval apart - well you could knock me over with a feather!
If you didn’t want to be here, glad that you moved on
