The old trick of managers empathising with the staff over their pay deduction. Pretending to be on the workers side and that are just as angry and sickened over the situation. They do not give two flying fxcks about how little you earn, what they are trying to do is suppress dissent in the employees.Join the union ,get support from the union and highlight the real time pay deduction that Seagate Springtown has unashamedly given to its workers.
Had a round table meeting recently and the overall impression was that the feeling from middle management was shock and horror to the recent pay rise knowing fine well it was tongue in cheek ....then to hear that the current enery bill is to go up to between 12 and 25 million per year in the current climate. No matter how much money is beign made on energy costs alone no company can sustain this impact....is the beginning of the end ?
The giants yawning
STST ,all got aprox 3 % pay rise, have not seen much ‘ prepared to take action’ yet, they must still be preparing 😂😂😂😂
A Blocks and Files article on Seagate seeing depressed earnings mentions HAMR.
Why in the world was the CFO announcing a volume ramp of 30TB HAMR in mid-2023? Shouldn't it be the CEO, an engineering VP, or at least a product VP?

You have to remember that Seagate Springtown hold a lot back from American headquarters. It will keep on pumping heads out until its run its course. How is HAMR going? Haven't heard it mentioned in a while.
At this point the power bill probably hasn't made it to the CEO desk yet. We are just waiting for that and the holy smokes reaction along with the we have to do something. So, something is coming.
They'll probably scale back production in Derry in favor of Normandale due to soaring power costs.
They're making too much money in the Londonderry plant to close.Theyll keep paying low wages and still get grants from Invest NI, that's why they won't close.Taking on more operators and don't believe the nonsense about a slow down in work. That was an excuse to justify you're cr---y payrise.
I won’t be surprised….cheap European manufacturing now becoming very expensive. Easy decision for these US multinationals
Enjoy your power and gas bills mates. Don’t be surprised if Seagate shuts down the factory because of power costs.
Give me one of those happy pills 3%
@gryn+1i8rilQ8 is that you MP?Im asking because I don't think anybody who got a 3% payrise is happy .
All at Seagate Derry happy enough with their 3 to 4 % increase, with the current company performance and the global predictions all happy and no further action is being sought by any of the Springtown employees. All happy in this factory and grateful for our jobs to pay our bills and make a decent living, all feeling blessed
It amazes me that people still fail to grasp that Seagate is fully aligned with the WEF. What part of you will own nothing do people not understand? They don’t even want you to own a car. Keeping you ahead of inflation is not a Seagate goal and they don’t care you are struggling. That’s the plan! But for what it’s worth….To war! Good luck mates.
