Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Why do people still join?

How is DXC able to still fill open positions? Anybody looking for a new job can find with an easy search everything that's wrong here, including the lack of proper raises, constant layoffs, and toxic work culture. Why are people so eager to join a company like that? Can anybody explain that?

Do the right thing, Do as you say "Actions are proof, July was promised and still no news.". Mike S didn't meet his goals and should be fired on the spot!

This is it:
"Maybe they've been laid off by another company and need a job, any job, to pay their bills. "

People join because DXC offer higher salaries to external candidates.

But once your internal you'll struggle to get a pay raise, they still haven't announced any raise for this year even after promising July.

Actions are proof, July was promised and still no news.

That last comment might have just been an attempt at sarcasm?

DXC does consider all cultures as part of it WFR programme. Its inclusive policy ensures all staff are considered for riffing.

Caring for staff on the basis of providing Town halls, probably underlines how out of touch the company is. Communicate more rules at the staff and make them suffer boring numbers without listening or responding to the questions that concern everyone the most, isn't caring or valuing staff.

Our work culture is absolutely second to none in the industry. We care for our employees - black history, diversity, Asian employees, regular townhall etc. Please join culture week and contribute to our growth.

The shithole continues to hire because most people aim their sight way too low. If you put a low price on yourself, rest assured that Shithole company will not raise it.

In 2019, DXC had the accolade of being rated one of the top 5 worst companies on Glassdoor. Dyson, Capita, Sage and William Hill were the other 4. In around April 2019, DXC Glassdoor had a sudden influx of DXC 5 star reviews. This rush of reviews was concentrated over a 14 day period. All entries used a clear first name (despite anonymous being used in the majority previously). All reviews praised 4-5 work topics, used similar phrasing and had no cons. After 14 days the anomalous entries stopped and the original trend of random data (associated with a large populous) returned. We are all familiar with spotting phishing emails and fake reviews these days, but it was clear that an assignable cause was behind them, either by incentive, encouragement or scripted by a small team...or perhaps a freak event?

DXC pays a much better salary to new joiners than to existing staff. Most new joiners probably only read GlassDoor. Sal has an 81% approval rating on GlassDoor right now, and some positive reviews.

I suspect DXC are rewarding people for saying good things on GlassDoor, 'cause most of them are pure BS.

Then there are people who want a promotion, and DXC can offer a fast route to promotion if you're currently working for another company with a 'grade pyramid' that stops you from getting promoted until there's a vacancy at the next grade up. This is why I joined DXC - one of my colleagues in my previous company had spent six years being told he was good enough for promotion, but there were no vacancies (he was the same grade as me and I didn't want to join the queue).

Maybe they've been laid off by another company and need a job, any job, to pay their bills.

And that's why DXC isn't struggling to recruit.
