Completing a PIP

Has anyone been put on a PIP and not lost their job? I was highly ranked and the last few years was ranked Very Good, then Good, and now NSI with PIP. Also, anyone with severance info would be great. I feel like this is inevitable.

Not all Imperial managers are toxic.
The most toxic are those who are insecure with low self-esteem. They lack technical skill, people skills and basic supervisory skills. They resort to being toxic as a self preservation mechanism.

Yes… you know who you are.

@4qgj+1i7K3Rlp it happened to me as well. Was bullied, mobbed by both my supervisor and team lead. It was very much by design to force me to quit. Reflecting back, leaving IOL was the best thing that happened to me. Full of toxic, narcotics clowns

Try not to survive the PIP, let the company lay you off and get the severance package. My manager was being a total bi--h trying to force me to quit. She used everything she could, pushing, shaming, bullying, intentionally soliciting bad feedback from others. Also the team lead did his part by completely throwing me under the bus. They were both ruthless. The company uses those kind of bad people as managers intentionally to drive people away. At least I got monetary compensation for the cruelty they exerted on me.

How long have you been with the company? i'm seeing a trend where +10 year employees who were always high ranked are being low ranked for the last couple of years. I believe this is to push them to leave the company on their own instead of the company laying them off. This way the company gets away without paying them a severance package which for any +10 year employee would be at least a one year salary +health benefits + pension earned for that year, which is a lot of money. This is ILLEGAL, this is called constructive dismissal, but it's hard for an employee to prove in a court of law.

Hi, I was PIP-ed, and I survived. But, I had to put in some significant effort to make that happen.

Unfortunately, I never recovered from that black dot on my profile. My ranking remained low after that.

I kept looking for jobs outside. Eventually, I quit and got of the stress.

Re: severance I would suggest knowing what your stat minimum is (salary plus years of service), plus any vacation payout (carryover doesn’t count). If the worst happens, you’re legally entitled to this within 3 days although imperial won’t mention that and will pressure you to sign documents to accept their first offer. I’d definitely consult a lawyer. Source: recently laid off.
