Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Big Changes Coming Watch to Digital & TFB - Care & Support to be gutted.

Just watch - Big Changes are coming to the digital channel as it gets all centralized under Marcus.

TFB is going through changes as well. Plenty of people are about to lose their jobs as Industry Verticalization is about to take place.

Costs are being kept exceptionally tight. We've been told to keep our meals to the bare minimum.

The company is driving the value up of the shares for that buyback.

Directors are being pulled in and informed of the changes and to prepare their teams for "Change Management" and leading through that change. IE: Perform or you'll be replaced.

Management was informed they have to go to 8 headcounts - or else they'll be let go and folded into other leadership - 1st level management added the headcount - under duress regardless of whether or not territories could support the additional headcount or not.

Expect more cuts in Customer Care, Retail and adjacent support channels.

Expect to see expansion in SDR roles as they ramp up outbound calling and meeting generation.

You've been warned - update your resumes - and start applying today - have something in the pipeline for the next 30 days so you're not left hanging. Worst case scenario you'll get a severance & be prepared. Best case you'll find something better.

The incredibly funny thing about this is that Career Fest is taking place this week when Directors are being informed.

I put in my notice at T-Mobile about a week ago. To everyone who thinks there aren’t jobs out there I had the same type of fears until I landed 3 offers all which paid substantially more. Have faith and know you can do so much better. These cuts were in the plan the day the merger went through.

Hearing from friends that Microsoft is laying off folks this week. Others supposedly going to follow suit.

"Worst of all there is little to no employment opportunities out there right now."

Do what? That's not even close to being accurate. Probably the best job market for workers since before the recession in '08. Workers have almost all the leverage right now, because people are willing to quit at the drop of a dime. YOU might have little to no employment opportunities, but that doesn't mean it's the same for others.

Worst of all there is little to no employment opportunities out there right now. No companies are willing to add cost to their business at this point in time.

They don't want to call it a layoff because that means they have to file WARN notices about layoffs.

Career fest is a joke. One of the SVP came out saying there is no hiring freeze or layoffs and showed a list of names that were promoted or hired. They don’t like the word layoffs and they’d feather call it “re-org”

I tried to do one of the programs our director kept encouraging us to do and when I finally found a team, my director then denied my request!

Retail and Customer Care (non-TFB Customer Care) are done. Changes done 30-60 days ago.

Career Fest and these “development” programs have always felt like stall tactics to keep people in place and spinning their wheels rather than actual opportunities.
