Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

High attrition

It’s everywhere. Started right before COVID and took a nosedive over the last two years. Raises didn’t keep up with inflation. You literally LOST money if you had less than an 8/9% raise.

Capital One is an incubator company: come in for a few years and then leave. There are fewer and fewer “lifers.” The pay is a lot better elsewhere.

Hemorrhaging still continues. My email is now filled with “farewell” and “thanks” emails from everyone leaving. Now that they’ve reopened the offices after Labor Day people know they can’t hide out any more. And the other segment of the workforce is endlessly searching for jobs.

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it seems like there are leadership issues from the Director level up. The amount of meetings these people schedule is mind boggling. I think the President of any country is less busy than the VPs at this company portray to be. The self importance also is a big turn off. And don’t get me started on the diversity and inclusion efforts…it’s really nauseating, especially since the the majority of the leadership is white. And I’m not even a minority! It’s really a hilarious place full of inconsistencies and double speak.

Sounds like the Cyber team too. It’s not even a slow revolving door of people. It’s like an autobahn speed departure. I went through 3 managers in less than a year.
