Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

PG has one of the highest approval ratings on Glassdoor

Are you telling me that 93 percent of employees honestly think that he's doing a good job? Not to mention that the average rating for the company is 4.3 stars. I don't buy this. I think we've been having so much trouble hiring that HR is working overtime to make Intel look better than it is on all the usual sites and to bury any negative reference within a day. I have no other explanation for this.

Intel has had problems for the past decade with missed opportunities (Paul O), lack of identity (BK) and what did Swan bring? PG has a lot of ideas but not one plan of execution and is all spin. He will fail just like the others. Intel needs a real leader not a cheerleader. The greatest waste of money Intel has is low morale. The only answer they ever come up with, because the CFOs are unqualified, is to layoff rather than addressing morale. Intel is so buried in past failures that they cannot rise above them.

Why would anyone expect otherwise? He does have great charisma and no one wants to admit they poured their life into a losing company.

Hope springs eternal and he gives just that - hope.

Pat has the job.. he is doing his best.. if nothing works he will be let go by board..but he will get his paycheck...

So I don't think there is any point in wasting time here..focus on your paycheck and get going..

By the way I am not getting any paycheck.. haha

Of course it was the HR, they've been working very hard in this forum as well.

PG is getting paid $180 million to solve problems. He knows what he stepped into when he took the job. Stop blaming Swan, BK, and Otellini. Be accountable.

Glassdoor is like a shittier Yelp (business model is to pay to remove negative posts) for companies.

When I worked at Xilinx I had a contact in HR. They were required to create fake accounts on Glassdoor and leave positive ratings and reviews to pump up the new CEO. He went from a low 20% approval to something like 70% approval. It doesn’t take that many fake reviews to swing things quite a bit.

PG is a good man and certainly has better attributes than the last 3 guys (Swan, BK, Otellini). However, the challenge PG faces is far bigger than those of his predecessors. The company’s beyond-PC-processors business ventures have largely failed, and the PC processor business itself has fallen behind AMD. We need some game-changing innovations, but a lot of the idea guys have left or were canned by the last three CEOs.
