I understand the need for a new 1000 people because employees are still leaving in droves from Belk. But financially, it doesn't make much sense to me. My estimate is that almost none of those 1000 employees will stay here for a long time. Isn't this a greater cost of this kind of management than if they tried to give us, who are already here, some reason to stay? Why does the leadership think only in short term, which in my opinion is totally wrong?

And the new employees will make more money than seasoned employees. Some new hire this spring makes $16 an hour. How many people working at Belk for years make less than that?
If there will be a new employee who will split work load with me, it will give me a reason to stay. I’m by myself trying to get done what 3 full timers and couple of part timers were doing before the lockdown. Please hire!!!
Again if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it. Belk top leaderships do not care, don’t want to know, don’t have a vision, don’t invest time in associates work ethic or happiness! When you have a monkey leadership, you have a monkey wrench situation! Wrong is not what Belk CEO really care. How much money I make at bonus with your sweats and tears now that is right!
