Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Nobody should worry about being laid off from VMware

What will you lose? A job where you're being overworked on daily bases while not being compensated properly for all the work you're doing. You'll also lose constantly eroding benefits and the pleasure of having your boss yell at you every day for things that are usually not even your fault and are most likely his. I don't see a downside to this, honestly.

I don't know of thos guy even works at VMW..
Been on several teams across BUs, always has great manager and really smart teams. Yes super disorganized strategies but work demands have always been reasonable with plenty of time to accomplish goals.

That has not been my experience. The senior engineers I have worked with are top notch engineers that can easily find FAANG level jobs. They decide to stay at VMware because of the culture.

@pjo+1i2NdLbL is so refreshingly honest. 2/3 of VMware employees fall into that category. And ironically many of them will be kept by BC because they will be in senior roles in CIBG (the one place that will survive, and the place with the most entitled and overcompensated team in RnD). Start from the Fellow and PEs and work down from there....

I don't experience any of that. Rarely talk with my manager, highly paid for my position (I know as no other employers that I have spoken to will match) and have plenty of time in the day to do nothing. TBH - I get a little bored. What benefits are eroding away?

@OP managers like yours should be outed. Immediately and loudly. That is not the norm in any corporate job, and should never be accepted as such.

General consensus of working at vmware suggest you’re in the minority here. Unfortunate, but not representative of the workforce.
