Any more layoffs in commerce and it will crumple inwards. Developers are spread too thin, and there’s too much legacy tech debt to overcome. Some teams have been good about getting rid of debt and transitioning, but most teams are clinging on to 20+ year old tech. Attrition has been piling up and no backfilling - except with paltry folks with no domain knowledge, innovative spirit, or real technical skill. If not now, then just a matter of time.

When you say Commerce, is this the old ATG product? Or something else?
If it is that bad, then it is already game over. you hit the point of no return. I wish I were wrong, but I have seen this pattern too many times. You need to get out now. Do not be the person who has to turn out the lights.
