But the majority of people I know who were laid off so far are at least in their late 40s. At least. Most of them are in their 50s. Yes, I do know some people who have been here just for a few years who've been cut but they seem to be a minority. It feels like people in the upper age group are being specifically targeted.

When I was laid off my separation documents included a table of the ages of the employees that were being laid off that round. It seemed to be slightly tilted towards older employees, but there were younger people, too. Not sure if they still include the table or how anyone could confirm its accuracy. To get your severance payment you have to sign away your right to sue the company at the time of the agreement and at anytime in the future. And also, they tax your severance all up front.
It seems like it was across the board. There are two guys on my team, 67 and 70 years old, and they were not laid off. Safra is in her 60s. Larry is 77... so they probably think old timers are not a liability.

There were people let go in their 20s through 50s on Monday. Some with decades of dedication to Oracle, some with only a few months.
I hear your suspicion though. Being over 40 at any tech company, the ageism gets very real and increases with each year.

There were plenty of young people let go either. This was an across the board layoff.

Yes this is not true at all. I’m in my 30s and was let go. Lots of people my age and younger were.
Not true. Entire teams are being let go from various ages and backgrounds.
