Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Severance - Negotiable?

I'm assuming the answer is no, but has anyone negotiated a better severance? I've been in the workforce 20+ years. I left a job that I was at for 7+ years to come to Oracle but I joined Oracle LESS than a year ago. I have a spouse and kids. Am I screwed on severance?

Did you sign an employment contract that states what your exit comp would be?

No?

You will get nothing, and like it!

Well if you live in California the California WARN act is your friend. Look it up. But basically 2 months is all you will get

There is no negotiation. And in order to get your severance package you have to sign s as m agreement not to sue.

Only case I have ever heard of severance being negotiated was when the person said oh you want me to sign that non-disclosure to get the severance I think I have stories worth more than the severance check

Bwahahahahaha !!! You do realize this is an ORACLE board, right? No negotiation.

You should be happy with the pittance that you are receiving at all. If Oracle truly had its choice, no laid off employee would get a single day's severance. So be thankful, but crank up that linkedin and resume, and get cracking !!
