Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Resignation doubts

I finally got a better offer, but now I'm kind of in a dilemma. Anyone else who has doubts whether to leave despite being sick of this place?

Those who switch and supposedly ended up in better paying jobs need to understand they were probably hired to fill a short-term need..

What someone mentioned here is exactly the main reason for my doubts and fear of change.

Actually those that left had a huge advantage: their new employer wasn't WE - it is more than likely better run from the top down - it offers better benefits - and more than likely that company isn't teetering on the edge from past money issues.

Even if those that left didn't make more money - they are probably less stressed about the future of their jobs and the company atmosphere is probably way better than what they left. Win - Win for people leaving WE.

I made 52k at WS 4 years ago. I now earn over 140k with 5% annual bonus. What do you think I’d be making if I were still at WS?

if you continue to do what you are doing, you will continue to receive what you have. Go for it, take the chance... Don't become 80 yrs old and wonder "what if"... Become 80 and say "I did this and this happened"..

Left and never came back, not once did anyone at Windstream give a s""". Wasn't even given an exit interview, but instructions how to return my PC. I make more money, less systems to juggle between, and less workload. In the end, I am much happier in my career! My attitude improved after leaving the dumpster fire that the higher-ups created, and I was around through the bankruptcy.

If you have doubts, then stay at Windstream, and stop wasting the other company's time. This is a great employee market as other companies are offering better compensation and benefits, by recruiting the best from others.

@No future here at WIN

Elliot has shopped around and failed numerous times. There have been more failed sales, they just haven't been as publicly announced. Uncle Kenny can't accept this,
Without bundling UNITI back into the equation there isn't alot of value for such fractured asset.

Sooooo..... You're unhappy enough here to look for another position. You find one. You interview. You get the offer.

And now you are having second thoughts about leaving this raging dumpster fire?

Leave. Go. Use your new health insurance, which honestly can't be worse than ours, to locate a psychologist and discuss Stockholm syndrome.

When I discuss what it is like working at Windstream including their pay and promotion policies I get the same answer from everyone - "You should get another job".

Get out now. If it doesn't work out and you know what you are doing, you can come back to WS and you don't even need a high school diploma....

Most of us are hired temp to perm. It was a risk I took to come to WE, but turned out my former job lost their contract about 6 months later and laid off all my former co-workers. Everything in life is a risk. I say go for it

If you are director or above it's worth staying around for your golden parachute.

Most of us are rank and file staff employees and any move outside of WIN is better than staying. I have a similar offer on the table right now and it's temp to perm in 3 months. I can go on my wifes benefits for the remainder of the year and then go permanent fulltime after the 1st of the year. I get having cold feet but it worth the mental break to start fresh.

Post chapter 11 I can stay I only know of 2 employees that have retuned to WIN out of the 100 or so that were let go or left on their own.

The sale to Zayo failed, the executives and Elliot are both too greedy to realize the actual value in the remaining assets. We are a fire sale and they just don't know it yet.
