Bosses Offer Midyear Raises to Retain Employees as Inflation Takes Toll

For any of the Black Jacket team peons that lurk here, why not copy an idea like this since your management strategy seems to be restricted to copying what other companies do.

AVP and above don't do any work. They get paid big bucks to "delegate" and "oversee" -- there's your cost savings. We would ALL be better off.

Budget cuts might be coming, but it feels like the whole corporate machine is on the verge of breaking.

I should look for a new job.

All I've been hearing for weeks in meetings is how budget cuts are coming. Maybe offloading our offices is a way to save money.

Met to shareholders: We're making you so much money🍾🛥️
Met to employees: We're broke no meaningful wage gains for you 🥺

Black Jacket here. Sorry, @OP+1hzFZvKp, but we have used up our budget for employee compensation by providing a Cultural Floating Holiday, and a Volunteer Day. Our internal data, which we cannot disclose, indicates that employees feel good when they THINK that the company shares the employees values (even if the company in fact does not). Plus, we can virtue signal big time on how many hours of volunteer work our employees did.

Summary: Sorry. No money. Look for a job elsewhere if you want more money.
