Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

I'm still here because I was taught never to quit

If you quit, you're a failure. That was instilled in me since I was born and for decades later. Now I'm stuck in this horrible company that has no future but I can't get out of the frame of mind that quitting would be admitting defeat. I pray to be laid off just so that the decision is taken away from me.

I too, was raised never to quit a job. My dad was old school and you stayed at one job for life. It was during my third job that was so unbearable that I just straight up quit. Dad had some harsh words about it, but I learned then and there that quitting is not failure but about self preservation.

I am so glad that I learned not to stay in a thankless job because of values of a past generation.

The wine is all gone in the vat. All thats left is backwash.

Don’t bottle it and call it vintage.
Thats pretty much xerox today.

When you sell a 40 ounce Thunderbird wine as a high quality Dom Perignon you loose peoples faith.

You might say xerox is at the bottom of the barrel with the equipment they make, service and sell.

Finding a better opportunity is not quitting, it's called ambition, which you clearly lack!!!!!

Not a bad plan … if you are happy with the money take them for all you can ..
Squeeze the heck out of them for all you can…

No reason to fight for a company that won't fight for you. Us old timers used to have a big X stamped in our forehead, but those days are long gone. Don't be afraid of leaving. You need to see yourself as a major ressource that companies will pay good money to have. And if Xerox can't see that some other company will.

Xerox is not the same as it was 20 years ago. Why do you feel as if you you can’t quit ? And just leave?
So xerox can change its strategy, but you can’t. Hmmmm. Not a good plan.

Just keep doing the same thing over and over in a failing company, and see where you get. You think you feel bad now. Just wait. Get the heck out of Dodge ….start the car. Floor it. Go!!!

What in God’s name are you waiting for? Don’t be Bamboozled here.
Leave immediately.

Sorry, but "never quit" only applies to things that are necessary and worthwhile.

Xerox employment is neither of those.
