Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

Company wide layoffs

Company wide layoffs are expected by fall. Due diligence is happening now, or so I'm told.
But to avoid news, they will happen in increments.

I wish I could submit a list somewhere of people that need to go.

I'm not sure I'd be upset if I was laid off any more. It'll give me the time to find a better job.

They're cutting in increments for many years now to avoid media. Pay attention, every quarter people suddenly announce their "retirement" or "pursuing other opportunities". For the unimportant schlubs, they just disappear without a trace. Never think for a minute that there are no layoffs here or that anyone "made it this round". Sneaky and underhanded is their ammo.

If layoffs happen, I wouldn't doubt that they will happen in increments.

But, right now, I've hear the attrition rate is very high. Its somewhat hard to believe they would have layoffs in general. Can you give any more info? Would they be IT related due to the shift to the cloud? Communications related due to Yammer becoming a wasteland and more and more people tuning out of the executive Dog and Pony show LTL? Or maybe they figured out that all the virtue signaling isn't working and are going to cut that crew. Nah.
